Plantation Woman Robbed of $30K Jackpot

Plantation woman was visiting Hard Rock in Tampa

Authorities say a man who appeared to be a good Samaritan took the purse of a South Florida woman who had just won a $30,000 jackpot at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa.

The Fort Myers News-Press reported the incident happened Tuesday afternoon outside the Miromar Outlets in Estero.

Jana Rajchl, who lives in Plantation, told Lee County deputies that she and a friend were returning to her car when they noticed a flat tire. A man offered to help, but she called a road service.

Deputies said when the AAA truck arrived, the man fled with the woman's purse. Investigators say the car's lock had been tampered with and the tire was slashed.

Sheriff's spokesman David Velez says it is likely the women had been followed from the casino.

The suspect is 5' 10" inches tall with a thin build, dark hair and braces, a Lee County Sheriff's Office report stated.
