Florida Gov. Charlie Crist spent his time in the gubernatorial seat loosening gun laws while lowering the cost of health care, making it more accessible for Florida residents. Crist, who endorsed Sen. John McCain in the 2008 presidential campaign, was reportedly one of the finalists for McCain's vice-presidential seat.

Gov. Charlie Crist has it all. Devilish good looks, a super tan, great hair, a wife that brings in millions and now the cops are in his back pocket.

The Police Benevolent Association is expected to announce that they will back Crist in his bid for U.S. Senate in 2010, the first major endorsement of the campaign season.

Now, the governor has a legion to hold all those "Pick Me" signs. The National Republican Senatorial Committee also endorsed Crist earlier this summer.

Crist, who was smart enough to have his good buddy George LeMieux keep his seat warm in Washington after Sen. Mel Martinez retired, has been tabbed as the front runner in a race that has some potential for an electric political race.

Trailing the governor in most polls and in many tanning salons is Republican Miami-native Marco Rubio. For now, he can settle for putting the GOP's Barack Obama on bumper stickers.

On the Democrat side is U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek, who wants to follow in the foot steps of his famous mother, Carrie Meek, to the hills of Washington DC.

Miami's first Hispanic Mayor, Maurice Ferre, has also thrown his name in the hat to run for the Senate.
