Police said they detained four men after a brief vehicle and then foot pursuit in Hialeah Thursday.
“Short chase,” Hialeah Police spokesman Carl Zogby said. “Four guys run out in the neighborhood, minutes later they are apprehended by Hialeah Police.”
The men were allegedly robbing a home, when a young woman witnessed the crime and called 911.
“They were trying to break into the house and she was inside and saw them,” said Lillian, the young woman’s mother, who only gave her first name. “I had my co-workers calling 911, I was calling 911, everybody was calling 911.”
The homeowner, Amanda, who only gave her first name after the incident, arrived to broken glass and a mess in her home.
“I was in shock because everything was just destroyed, everything,” she said. “They took things that had no value to them, they broke things and they just don’t care."
But in the end she was glad to know that the men were all in custody of the police.
“I’m glad – karma,” Amanda said. “Feels good.”
