Police Identify Type of Vehicle Used by Wanted Ft. Lauderdale Rapist

Detectives have identified the vehicle driven by the suspect in a Fort Lauderdale sexual battery that occurred earlier this month.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department described the vehicle as a dark-colored, older-model Ford Crown Victoria with factory baby moon hubcaps.

The FLPD also released a short video of the car thought to have been used in the crime that occurred Oct. 5 at about 1:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of Middle River Drive.

"A female victim was walking in the area when she was approached by a white male suspect," the FLPD said in a statement. "The suspect tackled the victim and sexually battered her on the front lawn of an apartment complex, next to the road. The suspect then fled the area in an unknown direction."

Police released a sketch of the suspect, who authorities described as a white male, about 40-45 years old, 5'11" to 6' with a large build. He has a tattoo on the lower right leg, possibly of an oriental theme.

The Broward County Crime Stoppers announced a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
