Police Impersonator Robs Man in Miami

A police impersonator robbed a man who was walking home from a Miami barbershop, telling the victim he'd seen him coming out of a drug house.

Miami police say the incident happened Wednesday night when a car pulled up alongside the man, flashed a badge and told the man to put his hands on a nearby fence.

The fake officer searched the man and took his phone, wallet and money. He then said he had to move his car and took off.

Investigators are searching for the man who may be wearing a police hat and has a gold badge. He was driving a dark blue car.

Police are reminding people to call 911 if someone suspicious tries to pull you over. They say the dispatcher will send out a marked police car to make sure the stop is legitimate.

Investigators are looking for a White male between the ages of 20 -25, 5’10” approximately 150 pounds, slim with a slight muscular build, wearing a “Miami Police” hat, black long sleeve shirt, black pants, Gold badge, either worn around the neck or embossed on the shirt and, a duty belt including, handcuffs, Taser and a firearm in a holster.

The firearm appeared to be a Black, full size glock type weapon. The suspect's car is a dark blue 2008 possibly a Chevy Impala with dark tints with a temporary tag with a translucent cover over it over it.
