Police have increased the reward for information that will help lead to the arrest of the driver who struck and killed 6-year-old DeAndre Binns in a hit and run crash in Miramar last month.
Binns, who was crossing Miramar Parkway near 62nd Avenue with a family member on Jan. 9, was struck by a vehicle and thrown onto the car's hood. The boy fell off the car, was run over and then taken to Joe DiMaggio Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police on Monday said they're now offering $2,750 in hopes to find the driver of the white, 1990-1993 Honda Accord that fled the scene.
The family has asked the suspect to turn himself in in various occasions, in hopes to get an explanation and closure.
Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
