Police say an Opa-Locka family was the victim of a home invasion robbery Thursday after they posted about their lavish lifestyle on Facebook.
The robbery happened around 2 a.m. at a home in the 1200 block of Wilmington Street, Opa-Locka Police Deputy Chief Antonio Sanchez said.

According to Sanchez, two masked gunmen followed an 18-year-old family member to the home and robbed the family at gunpoint. The suspects took off in the family's silver 4-door Mercedes.
Sanchez said the teen victim had been posting information on Facebook which the thieves used to track him down.
"The victim was basically flashing a high-end automobile, a Mercedes-Benz and money and things of that nature," Sanchez said. "Some comments that were made by the subjects who committed robbery to the victim directly was that they had actually been following him on Facebook."

Sanchez said it appeared that the suspects picked the victim at random.
"Our general warning to residents and the general public is to be very cautious what they post on Facebook," Sanchez said. "In this particular case the victims were posting money, they were posting and bragging about the high-end automobiles and basically life of luxury. Obviously that's not very wise to do."

The car was later found in the area of Northwest 79th Street and 8th Avenue, police said.
No one was seriously injured, and police are still investigating the incident.
Sanchez said police are looking for two black males in their early to mid 20s, and they're asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
