Police Investigate Three Separate Shootings in Miami Gardens

Police in Miami Gardens are investigating after three separate shootings occurred within two hours Saturday night.

Gunmen opened fire at three different scenes just blocks from one another.

Ynderia Jacques told NBC 6 her brother, 16-year-old Kemard, was shot outside their house on the 2900 block of NW 174th Street. She said someone fired several rounds from a truck as it drove by, hitting her brother in the leg as he was walking to a nearby store.

“I just heard three gunshots,” Ynderia Jacques said. “He came to the back door, screaming, ‘Open the door!’ He went to the couch and laid on the floor. My cousin wrapped a towel around his leg.”

Just a mile away, a man in his 20s, identified by family members as Kory Miles, was shot in the face. Witnesses near the scene on the 2300 block of NW 183rd Street said they heard four or five gunshots.

A third shooting happened in the area of 191st Street, where a man was hurt and taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

Kemard Jacques was transported to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Miles’s family said he is recovering at the hospital.
