Miami Police are investigating reports of a fatal shooting after finding a man’s body in the middle of the street in Little Haiti Wednesday morning.
Officers and rescue crews arrived at the scene near Northwest 5th Avenue and 47th Street shortly before 3:30 a.m. after the department's ShotSpotter detected two shots fired in the area according to police spokesman Michael Vega.
Once they arrived, officers found a black man unresponsive on the ground and he was pronounced dead. Officials have not released the victim’s identity or any other details on a potential shooter in the case.
Neighbors say it's a scene that happens all the time in the area.
"I was worried of course, because I’m here all the time and I come back late at night from work sometimes so it is something to be concerned about," said resident Alejandro Gonzalez.
