Officials are investigating a fatal crash in Davie after a car slammed into a tree at SW 39th Street and University Drive early Saturday morning.
Davie Police say the Silver Pontiac was traveling north on University Drive just after 1 a.m. when it lost control, crossing over the median and into the southbound lanes. It then struck a tree on the west side of University Drive.
The driver, who has not been identified, was not wearing a seat belt and died on scene, police said.
Police are looking for witnesses that may have information on the crash. Anyone that may have seen the crash can call Officer DiMeglio at 954-693-8200.
