1 Arrested After Armed Home Invasion in Miami-Dade

One person is in custody and three others are on the run after an armed home invasion at a family's Miami-Dade house early Thursday morning.

The incident happened at a home in the 25000 block of Krome Avenue in Homestead, Miami-Dade Police officials said. According to police, four armed men entered the home around 4:30 a.m. as two women and three men were asleep inside.

“He cocked it and pointed the gun to my head,” said Niurka Piño. “He said, ‘Don’t look at me. Don’t look at me while he held the gun right here (pointing to head).”

The suspects fired six shots but no one was hurt. The occupants of the home called 911 and the suspects fled the home when the heard the police sirens coming towards the home.

One of the suspects, Yurian Martinez Medina, 24, was taken into custody shortly after the home invasion, but police are searching for the other three.
