Officer Shot at Suspect Who Tried to Run Him Over: Pembroke Pines Police

The incident was reported at a strip mall at 11226 Pines Boulevard.

Police are looking for a suspect who tried to run over an officer and was shot at by the cop in Pembroke Pines Monday morning, officials said.

The incident happened just before 3 a.m. in the parking lot of Gaby's Lounge at 11226 Pines Boulevard when the unidentified suspect was found to have a firearm when he tried to enter the club, Pembroke Pines Police said.


The door man requested help from two off-duty officers but the suspect fled on foot when they approached him, police said.

The suspect got into an SUV and sped toward an on-duty officer who had responded to the scene, police said.

The officer was forced to fire but the suspect was able to flee the scene. No one was injured.

A perimeter was set up but police were unable to find the suspect or his car.

Police described the suspect as a black male, 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, between 25-35 years old, with short black hair.
