Officials from a Central Florida police department are investigating the possibility that a teen girl reported missing from Miami earlier this month could be the same teen in an Amber Alert issued earlier this week.

Titusville Police continue their search for a teen they say was last seen being forced into a SUV just before 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Investigators now say it is possible that teen could be 17-year-old Dania Bellegarde, who was last seen May 7th in the 1700 Block of NW 95th Street in Miami-Dade County.

Titusville Police Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson said in a statement that investigators looked into a possible link in the case, but the witness in Tuesday’s case did not initially claim it could have been Bellegarde. In later interviews, the witness now feels it could be.

Bellegrade is 5-foot-5 and weights 140 pounds with black hair in braids and brown eyes and also has a nose piercing. Police have described her as a frequent runaway with no medical or physical impairments.

Anyone with any information on either case is asked to call Titusville Police, Miami-Dade Police or the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
