Man Injured in Police-Involved Shooting in North Miami

Authorities are investigating a police-involved shooting in North Miami Monday morning

A burglary suspect was hospitalized after he was shot during a confrontation with officers on a roof in North Miami Monday morning.

The shooting happened around 4 a.m. after officers responded to a burglary call at 1595 Northeast 135th Street and ended up at 1580 Northeast 137th Street, Miami-Dade Police said.

One suspect ended up shot in the shoulder after the confrontation on the roof. The suspect was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition, police said.


Several police departments responded to the scene.

"There were a multi-agency response of a burglary in progress. Officers arrived from different agencies to assist," police spokeswoman Det. Elena Hernandez said.

Hernandez said they are still trying to determine whether the suspect was armed or not.
