Police: Orlando-Area Mom Leaves Toddler in Car to Work in Mall

A 21-year-old Orlando-area mom is accused of leaving her toddler in a car for nearly two hours while she worked at a mall, according to a report from NBC affiliate WESH.

The report says someone spotted the 3-year-old toddler waving for help in a Chevy Malibu with the windows rolled up outside the Premium Outlet Mall in Orlando Tuesday afternoon.

The person flagged down security guards who got the child out of the vehicle and administered aid.

When confronted by police, the child's mother, 21-year-old Tanisha Williams, claimed she was waiting for the babysitter to pick up the child.

Williams eventually confessed to police that there was no sitter, and that she'd left the child alone in the car during her work shift.

Williams was arrested and charged with child neglect. Authorities placed the child in the car of Williams' roommate.

It is not known if Williams has hired an attorney.
