Police Release Video, Description of Subject Involved in Fatal Shooting

Lakisha Lampiley, 25, was fatally shot in a car after she left Club Romance in Miami last week

Authorities released surveillance video Monday related to the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old mother of five after she left a Miami club.

Miami Police said the video shows a black Chevrolet Tahoe or Dodge Durango following a gray Nissan Altima with the victim inside.

“We believe that’s where the subject was prior to shooting at the poor victim’s vehicle and ultimately killing her,” police spokesman Sgt. Freddie Cruz said.

Police also said they have information that leads them to believe that the SUV was a rental vehicle and was returned shortly afterward.

In the early hours of Aug. 13, Lakisha Lampiley was killed after leaving Club Romance on NW 36 Street and NW 34th Avenue.

Near 14th Avenue, the subject pulled alongside the gray Altima and began shooting, police said.

The subject, known as “Jit,” is described as a black male who is 6 feet tall with a thin build and dark complexion. Police also said the man has long dreadlocks and several gold teeth. He was last seen talking to the victim in the club.

Princess Lampiley, who sat on her sister in the backseat of the car when she was shot, said her sister was in a hurry to leave the club.

Right before shots were fired at the car "she was saying 'Y'all seen how they was looking at us?'" Princess Lampiley recalled.

Lakisha Lampiley was driven to North Shore Medical Center, where she died from multiple gunshot wounds.
