Bus surveillance of a man wanted in the brutal attack and robbery of a woman in Tamarac on New Year's Eve.
Police are on the hunt for a violent robbery suspect who brutally attacked a woman in Tamarac on New Year's Eve.
The incident happened around midnight in the 6100 block of N. University Drive after the 24-year-old victim got off a county bus, according to Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion.
According to Concepcion, the attacker, who had also been riding the bus, approached the woman from behind and pushed her to the ground. He took her purse and computer tablet and fled the scene on foot.
The attack left the woman with several cuts and bruises on her head and face.
"She has a huge bump on her head and scratches on her face," Concepcion said.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned male, either black or Hispanic, who weighs around 180 pounds and is about 5-foot-8. In a surveillance video released by authorities, he's wearing a polo short with red and beige horizontal stripes and blue jeans.
"This is evidently someone who can be very aggressive and will hurt someone in order to take their property," Concepcion said.
