Police Search for North Miami Beach Bank Robber

Armed man storms Bank of America, gets away after dye pack explodes

Authorities are searching for an armed man who robbed a Bank of America in North Miami Beach early Monday.

According to the FBI, the man jumped the counter at the branch at 1199 Northeast 163rd St. around 11 a.m., and was able to get away with a bag of cash.

Surveillance photos from inside the bank showed the man clutching a gun in his hand and wearing all dark clothes and a white ballcap.

When the man got outside the bank, a dye pack inside the bag exploded, an FBI spokesperson said.

Authorities spent hours combing the area for the suspect, even shutting down a nearby school as a precaution.
