Police Searching For Wallet Thieves Who Struck at Weston Supermarkets

Weston Police are searching for the people they say took a wallet from inside the purse of a grocery store shopper – and later used her card to spend hundreds of dollars at a separate store.

Surveillance cameras at the Publix Supermarket located at 1170 Weston Road show a woman reach into the victim’s purse and steal her wallet before moving away from the scene.

Later that day, a second woman used one of the victim’s credit cards to charge nearly $800 at a separate Publix off Indian Trace. At that same store, the thief from the original robbery also stole a second wallet.

The thieves are both described as black woman, with the first suspect being a heavy set woman in her late 50’s who wore a sun hat, glasses, a tan shirt and tan leggings.

The second suspect was said to be in her mid 20’s and was wearing a gray knit cap, sunglasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. She was using a motorized cart inside the store.
