Police Searching for Suspected Arsonists Who Burned SW Miami-Dade Cars

The Miami-Dade Police Department is searching for suspected arsonists who burned several vehicles, which also led to damage to a home.

Surveillance video shows two suspects walking on a sidewalk Sunday morning while one carries what appears to be a bucket. Seconds after moving out of the camera's view, an explosion occurs and both people are running.

One of the suspected arsonists' pants seemed to have caught on fire. A resident said she believes the act was intentional.

A neighbor of the house where the fires occurred said the flames frightened her household.

"One of the guys fell there — apparently rolling because of the fire," Maria Ortega said. "We all just ran out, grabbed the key of the car and just took them all out and there was fire everywhere."

The MDPD said three cars were set ablaze and that the exterior of a home was charred.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
