‘I Forgave Him': Woman Shot in Miami Lakes Parking Lot

Two women who were carpooling to work were shot while sitting in a parked car Tuesday morning in Miami Lakes.

It happened around 8 a.m. in the parking lot of 15000 Northwest 79th Court.

According to investigators, Veronica Moss and Tahkyshia Ross carpooled to work. As the women exited their vehicle, they were approached by a subject in a silver Ford Mustang who began shooting at them.

Police said the subject shot several times, striking Moss once and Ross twice. Both victims sustained injuries to their lower extremities and were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

A witness who observed the incident called police and provided a description of the subject vehicle, which fled northbound on Northwest 79th Court.

Responding officers observed the vehicle driving at a high rate of speed, eastbound on Miami Lakes Drive at Northwest 67th Avenue. Officers pursued the vehicle, which crashed a short while later into a tree in the area of 59th Court.

Police said the subject ran from the crashed vehicle, and was caught by officers who gave chase. He was taken into custody and has been identified as 26-year-old Andrew Jerrod Seabrooks.

Moss spoke to NBC 6 and said they don't know Seabrooks, "I don't think she knew him either because she didn't act like she knew him."

Moss said she's not even mad at him because, "God forgave me of my sins, so I forgave him of his."

NBC 6 also spoke with the alleged shooter's aunt on Tuesday. She said Seabrooks had done a previous prison sentence for two years.

Police are investigating a motive.
