Polo Mogul to Serve 16-Year Sentence at New Prison

A South Florida polo mogul found guilty in a fatal drunken-driving crash has been moved to a new prison.

Fifty-one-year-old John Goodman had requested serving out his 16-year-term at Moore Haven Correctional Institution in Glades County, about an hour from his Wellington home. But The Palm Beach Post reports he has been moved to Madison Correctional Institution, east of Tallahassee, and about five hours from his home.

Goodman was convicted in October of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide.

Evidence showed that Goodman was driving drunk when he ran a stop sign in February 2010 and rammed his black Bentley into 23-year-old Scott Patrick Wilson's car. Wilson died after his car rolled into a canal.

Authorities said Goodman left the scene and waited nearly an hour to call 911.
