No Arrests After Reported Gun Threat at Mater Academy in Hialeah Gardens: Police

Police said no arrests were made after a reported gun threat at Mater Academy in Hialeah Gardens Tuesday.

Officers with Hialeah Gardens Police responded to the school at 7901 Northwest 103rd Street after officials say a student at another school made a threat to take a gun to Mater Academy.

Students and staff were placed on alert while the incident was investigated.

Police said the incident began as a fight between two students, and one student has a screen name called "school shooter."

Detectives interviewed the students and found no credible threat, police said.
