A precautionary boil water notice was issued for a part of Hialeah on Monday after road construction forced the closure of a 24-inch water main serving the area.

The water main will be closed from 10 p.m. on Monday night to 5 a.m. to Tuesday.

So, as a precaution to low system pressures, the department of public works advised people to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes.

The affected area is West 37th Street to the south to West 84th Street on the north and West 4th Avenue to the east to West 37th Avenue to the west.

The advisory will be in effect until tests confim that the water meets state standards.
