President Barack Obama Overnighting in South Florida

President Barack Obama is making an overnight stop in South Florida.

There was heavy security around the Hilton hotel in Downtown Miami Wednesday night where President Barack Obama was in town for a quick fundraising trip for the DNC.

Mr. Obama was lending a helping hand to raise money for the Democratic campaign that will succeed him. He arrived Wednesday afternoon at Miami International Airport on Air Force One.

He then made his way to two different fundraising events which were each held at private homes. Democrats say about 30 supporters were at the first gathering in Coconut Grove and 60 attended the second, which was held at a home in Coral Gables.

President Obama made his way around town inside a highly secured vehicle, protected by both the Secret Service and local police agencies.

From adults to children, many were excited by the presidential visit.

"I think that's really cool," said Sabrina Cheikhali.

"It's not something that happens every day," added Liam Malik.

Mr. Obama will visit the National Hurricane Center on Thursday.
