Psychologists Discuss Social Media, Politics During NBC6 Facebook Live Chat

The 2016 presidential race helped to prove that the combination of politics and social media can be rather dangerous – and not just President Donald Trump’s Twitter use.

From differing opinions on social issues to party divides, political arguments are flooding social media timelines everywhere. In some cases, those same arguments have led to strained relationships between family members, friends and even co-workers.

Fifty-nine percent of Americans find it "stressful and frustrating" when discussing politics on social media with people they disagree with, according to a recent Pew Research Center study.

Licensed psychologists Dr. Joyce Szentpaly and Dr. Jason Spielman from the Neuro Behavioral Institute in Weston joins NBC 6 on Facebook Live to discuss the bitter combination of politics and social media on Monday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
