Residents and relatives rallied in support for the family of Lavall Hall Wednesday as they continued to demand justice in his fatal police-involved shooting in Miami Gardens.
"All I want to know why, why, why did they take my child's life when I called for help and told them he had a mental problem," mother Catherine Daniels said.
Daniels took her sorrow and her anger to City Hall for Wednesday night's rally at a city council meeting. A week and a half ago she called police for help with her bipolar, schizophrenic son. An officer who ended up responding shot and killed him.
Daniels stormed out before the meeting ended.
At the city council meeting, dozens spoke in solidarity, one by one demanding accountability. And the release of any video from the night Hall was killed.
"So that they can be evaluated. We're asking for an outside agency to investigate what happened that night," one resident said.
"The truth, that's what I'm seeking, for the truth," Daniels said.

The Mayor and the chief said the city supports the release of any video but not without following protocol.
"It's sad and tragic, they're going to do everything they're supposed to do and the state attorney is going to make the decision," Mayor Oliver Gilbert said.
"I'm going to take everything into account, that's my commitment to this community," Police Chief Stephen Johnson said. "My main priority right now is to focus on this investigation to ensure that justice is served."
