A Florida man who is a registered sex offender was taken into custody Monday for exposing himself outside of his Ocala home, police said.
Joseph Lamar Conn, 49, was found sunbathing naked on a blanket on his front porch, according to an Ocala Police report obtained by the Gainesville Sun.
An officer who arrived at Conn's home after receiving a call about a nude man found Conn lying naked holding a rubber penis, the report said.
Conn was quick to get up, cover himself and run inside and when the officer called for backup, Conn came back outside wearing shorts, the report said.
According to the report, Conn told the officer that he often suntans naked while holding a sex toy but that he was unaware he could be seen from the street. His house sits near a Methodist church.
Conn was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail and charged with indecent exposure.
Conn also admitted he was a registered sex offender and had served a one-year sentence for being a sex offender. He was released from prison in March, officials said.
Online records showed Conn was found guilty of principal lewd assault/sexual battery on a victim less than 16 years of age in February 2002, according to the Sun.
