A Fort Lauderdale-bound JetBlue plane was forced to return to Jamaica after a report of a smoke odor Monday night, company officials said.

A Fort Lauderdale-bound JetBlue plane was forced to return to Jamaica after a report of a smoke odor Monday night, company officials said.

JetBlue flight 876 returned to Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston shortly after takeoff Monday night.

The plane, which was heading to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, had a report of a smoke odor, the company said.

Six of the plane's passengers were taken to medical facilities for evaluation, the company said. No other information was immediately known.
