Puppies Rescued From Suspicious House Fire in Miami-Dade

A group of young puppies were rescued from a northwest Miami-Dade home which police say was riddled with bullet holes and possibly hit by a Molotov cocktail - one of several similar attacks that occurred one after the other early Wednesday.

According to investigators, shots were fired at a home at 1171 Northwest 141st Street in Miami-Dade just after 6 a.m.

Officers arrived at the scene to ensure everyone's safety. Later, residents told police that a car pulled up and began shooting at the house and threw some type of Molotov Cocktail at the home.

Molotov Cocktails and bullet casings were found at the home, police said. About 70 shots were fired.

Soon after, police received a similar call at a home at 1415 Northeast 147th Street. That residence also had bullet holes and evidence of a Molotov Cocktail. About 30 shots were fired at that location, police said.

Later, police received a separate 9-1-1 call of a house on fire at 1160 Northwest 141st Street. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and extinguished that fire, and rescued a group of small puppies from that home.

Arson detectives are investigating to see if the suspicious fire is related to the previous two incidents.

No injuries were reported at any of the three scenes.

Police do not have a description of a subject or the vehicle that was used.
