Reward for Fugitive Tied to Miami Motel Murder Up to $8,000

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture of fugitive Michael Evans. That brings the total reward to $8,000 including the $3,000 being offered by Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers. The U.S. Marshals Service has also released a new photo of Evans.

He is wanted in Ohio for failure to appear for aggravated robbery and felony assault charges. Evans is also a suspect in the a murder of 46-year-old Joe Moniz, whose body was found at the Sunshine Inn Motel in Miami. Evans, 30, is believed to be traveling with his wife Kristy Evans and her seven-year-old daughter Jala Barnett. They were staying inside the same room where Moniz's body was discovered on June 6.

Police believe the family could be in one of two cars, a blue Audi convertible or a blue Ford Escort.

Evans is 5’10” and weighs approximately 190 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. Kristy Evans is 34-years-old, 5’04” and weighs approximately 130 pounds. Jala Barnett is 7-years-old, approximately 4’6” and weighs approximately 65 pounds. Jala also has a beauty mark on the right side of her face above her lip.
