Riders Get Stuck on Universal's Incredible Hulk Coaster

Twelve riders had to be rescued from a popular roller coaster at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure Tuesday evening.

A minor technical glitch caused the Incredible Hulk roller coaster to automatically shut down at 5:30 p.m. with riders still strapped inside, NBC affiliate WESH reports.

Safety officials had to remove the guests from the ride before restarting it.

Twenty riders were able to manually exit the ride, but theme park officials told WESH that firefighters had to rescue 12 people from the uppermost cars using a bucket truck.

No injuries were reported.

Islands of Adventure is owned by Universal Studios, part of NBC Universal - the parent company of NBC 6 South Florida.
