Being compared to the President isn't always a good thing, Mr. Rubio.
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but biting the President's style won't get the GOP to the White House any faster.
Miami's Marco Rubio is now being touted as the Republican version of Barack Obama, which might be a heavy burden to bear for the young pol looking to win a soon-to-be vacant Senate seat.
In an interview with MSNBC, reporter Carlos Watson heaps praise on Rubio and then drops a "He's young. He's attractive. He easily connects with crowds. Remind you of anyone we know? Ten-to-one, this guy will soon be labeled the GOP's Barack Obama."
Whoa, there young fella! Slow down.
Rubio is facing an uphill battle when he goes up against Gov. Charlie Crist, who is widely considered the future of the Republican Party. While Rubio has garnered the endorsement of political lightweights like Jeb Bush Jr., Crist is running with heavyweights like Sen. John McCain.
The blog, Naked Politics, has a transcript of some of the profile interview, where Watson continues to push the Rubio-Obama similarities.
Rubio should ask Watson to silently show his support by sending a fat campaign contribution check and leave the comparisons for after the election.
