SWAT Officers Shoot Pit Bull in Pompano

SWAT officers serving a warrant in Pompano Beach shot and killed a charging pit bull Friday morning, police said.

The officers were serving a warrant in the 600 block of Northwest 5th Ave when the dog made a run at them, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Two of the deputies fired, killing the dog. The suspect was taken into custody.

Police didn't identify the suspect or say what the warrant was for.
