Satanic Display Inside Boca Raton Park Vandalized For Second Time

For the second time in a matter of weeks, a controversial satanic display has been vandalized inside a Boca Raton park.

NBC affiliate WPTV reported the incident took place overnight Tuesday inside Sanborn Square. Tire tracks could be seen in the grass and on the sidewalk leading from the display, which appears to have been pulled down.

The 10-foot tall structure created controversy when it was placed among other holiday displays inside the park this year. It was placed there by Preston Smith, a middle school teacher from the area.

Some parents have reportedly begun drafting a petition to have Smith removed from his job, saying he sets a "bad example" for students. However, Palm Beach County School superintendent Robert Avossa told WPTV that Smith’s views are protected by the First Amendment.

An investigation continues into the latest incident involving the display, with police continuing to search for leads.

Police say in total they've been called out to the display eight times, and several of the incidents remain under investigation.
