The SoBe Music Institutes brings you free concerts all the time. Now they need you to do them a solid. Donate funds to bring a theatre to South Beach.

The Little Stage Theater is a dive. At least that’s what the SoBe Music Institute says about the historic theater connected to its other digs.

The Institute, which aims to teach kids and adults to appreciate the fine arts, provides scholarships to local youths and offers free professional concerts, hopes the revival of the theater will give the Institute a chance to bring even more professional theater productions to Miami Beach. Look for them to also use the space as an educational pod to teach little and big SoBe-ers about the arts.

While the city has agreed to donate funds to the project, the Miami Beach piggy bank doesn’t have enough in it for the Institute to splurge on professional sound, lighting, projection—all the things that let you really see and hear a show.

In an attempt to match the city’s funds, the SoBe Music Institute is asking locals to dig deep and make donations to the cause. A $100-plus donation scores a VIP ticket to the Institutes’ “Hands Across the Border” concert, featuring a Canadian symphony on March 20, as well as a pass to after-party at the W South Beach Hotel.

First donate, then get some Canadian culture and finally, party. Got it? Good.
