Scaffolding Collapsed in Fort Lauderdale, Worker Rescued After Dangling From Bridge: Authorities

A worker who had dangled from a Fort Lauderdale bridge after scaffolding collapsed was rescued and rushed to a local hospital Monday, authorities said.

After the scaffolding fell at 2010 Southwest 21st Ave., three people were reported dangling underneath the bridge, and one person was trapped below, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesman Matt Little said.

Two of the workers were able to come down via a cherry picker. The worker who was left dangling beneath the bridge was brought down by a technical rescue team.

All four people were rushed to Broward Health Medical Center.

Fort Lauderdale Police tweeted a photograph of the worker dangling.
