Rescue crews in Miami are searching for the driver of a stolen yacht that crashed into the Miami Beach marina last Sunday night.
The scene took place off Alton Road and 3rd Street shortly before 11:30 p.m. Crews from FWC, the U.S. Coast Guard and Miami Fire Rescue responded and found an 80-foot vessel abandoned after crashing into a dock.
Several other boats that were docked were damaged as a result of the crash.
An investigation is ongoing into the crash, including whether the driver may have intentionally hit other boats being docked in the area. Witnesses say they saw the driver jump into the water to get away.
Crews searched the water around the marina and did not find anyone. No one on the dock was injured.
While invesitgating the crash, crews found that another boat docked had been tampered with - possibly in a failed attempt to steal it.
