Secret Santa Donates $3K Ring in Salvation Army Red Kettle

Following an anonymous voicemail Wednesday afternoon, The Salvation Army found a platinum and diamond ring deposited in a Red Kettle bucket at a supermarket in Coral Gables.

The ring, which appraised at $2,995, was wrapped in a $20 bill with a hand-written note that read: "There are so many who need help. Keep doing good!"

In the past six years, The Salvation Army in Miami-Dade has found unique donations including a gold nugget, two other diamond rings and an emerald and diamond necklace, all of them linked to the same mysterious woman who calls in advance and leaves heartfelt messages on hand-written notes and calls.

The gift is much appreciated by the organization, since the agency reports a 10 percent decrease in cash donations to the Red Kettle for Miami-Dade and Broward counties combined.
