Man Arrested For Allegedly Impersonating Officer After Pulling Over Miami PD Official

A Hialeah man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly pretending to be an officer - when pulling over an actual Miami Police Department official.

Police say 46-year-old Milton Morales-Perez was driving along Southwest 7th Avenue near 13th Street when he pulled next to a black Ford Taurus. That car was being driven by MPD's Public Information Officer, Kenia Fallat.

Morales-Perez, according to the police report, flashed a silver badge while identifying himself as police in Spanish and telling Fallat - who was in her full police uniform - to hang up her phone and stop the car.

Fallat called for another officer to come to the scene and Morales-Perez was arrested. He told officers that he had a badge because he is a security guard and stopped the officer because “she was on the phone, and it is very dangerous to be on the phone while driving.”

He was arrested and charged with impersonating an officer.
