Al Sharpton Among Those Rallying Early Voters Today

Early voting starts today and continues until October 31

Early voting begins today, and the candidates and their supporters will be out in full force.

While Gov. Charlie Crist's schedule includes stops at a UPS service center in Clearwater and the Pinellas Election Center, Kendrick Meek will early vote at Miami's Government Center, then head up to Palm Beach, where he'll be joined by Congressman Ted Deutch, Reps Mack Bernard and Mark Pafford, and Mayor Lois Frankel at the Okeechobee Library.

Over the weekend, Marco Rubio campaigned with Rudy Giuliani across Florida, making stops in Sarasota, Venice, Fort Myers, and Delray Beach.

Also on the early voting tour today will be Rev. Al Sharpton, who has five stops scheduled, including the North Miami Public Library and the New Birth Baptist Church.

At the Coral Gables Library Monday morning, turnout was light, with most voters citing convenience as the reason they're turning in their ballots early. Meanwhile, other groups are taking advantage of the next two weeks, including advocates for the Carlos Alvarez recall, who were on hand to solicit signatures for the petition.

Voters may have noticed the negative campaigning ramping up recently, as Florida, along with the rest of the country, is expecting high early voter turnout.

Thirteen poll locations in Broward and 20 in Miami-Dade will be open for business today. Before heading to the polls, voters are encouraged to review the sample ballot.

Early voting ends October 31.
