The Oasis of the Seas, 361 m long, 47m wide, will be the largest cruise vessel ever built and will be able to accommodate over 6,000 passengers. About 5000 workers are working on the ship to be handed over on October 25 and will cross Atlantic Ocean to be delivered to his final destination in the Caraibean seas.
Big, gaudy luxury ships are nothing new to Miami, but soon the city will play host the biggest and gaudiest ship of them all.
The Oasis of the Seas, the world's largest cruise liner is on its way from Finland to the Magic City, with a quick stop in England.
The 1,200 foot-long, $1.5 billion dollar vessel left Helsinki today for the 12-day voyage to Port Everglades.
The ship, which will be operated by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, has 2,700 cabins, can accomodate over 6,300 passengers and 2,100 crew members, has 16 passenger decks, an open-air arena the size of a football field, a 750-seat theater and a skating rink.
The Oasis will begin operations in December.
