Shooting at Southwest Miami-Dade Pharmacy Under Investigation

Miami-Dade Police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night after an attempted robbery inside a Southwest Miami-Dade pharmacy – and whether a man who arrived at an area hospital was the one who originally tried to commit the crime.

Officers arrived at the scene of the CVS located at 11503 Quail Roost Drive shortly after 7:30 p.m. According to initial reports, a man walked into the store and pulled out a gun before another customer pulled out his own gun and opened fire, causing the alleged robber to flee.

Shortly after, a man showed up at Jackson Memorial Hospital South with a gunshot wound – however, police have not confirmed if he was the original robber.

The man, later identified as an investigator with the State Attorney's Office, who opened fire stayed on the scene and was interviewed by officers. No charges have been filed
