A 16-year-old central Florida male is in critical condition after police say a 6-year-old boy shot him in the head, the Orlando Sentinel is reporting.

Eatonville is six miles north of Orlando and police say that the teenager was playing video games inside a home when the six-year-old, who was described as a victim of the relative, picked up a handgun that was on the floor.

Police say the boy thought the weapon was a toy and when it fired he ran out of the room.

The victim has been identified as Anthony Lane, Jr.

On its website, Eatonville describes itself as the “oldest incorporated African American municipality in America,” having become a city shortly after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
