    Firefighters extinguished a tractor trailer fire that sent smoke and flames billowing into the air on Interstate 75 South Friday afternoon.

    The vehicle was on the highway by the Indian Trace exit in Weston.

    All southbound lanes were blocked for an extended period during rush hour because of the blaze.

    There were no injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Authorities said they are investigating how the fire started.
