South Beach Wine and Food Festival: Best of the Rest

There are tons of events all over Miami Beach this weekend. Here are a couple happening alongside the festival.

South Beach Wine and Food Festival kicks off on Thursday, and there are a ton of events all over Miami Beach for the next four days. We pulled together a couple events that are happening alongside the festival.

FRIDAY: Watch celeb chefs compete in the sand with a game of beach volleyball. "Let's Get Spiked!" starts at 1 p.m. and runs until 2:30 behind the James Royal Palm.

               Wine Spectator's "Best of the Best" is from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Fontainebleau. HaVen Gastro-Lounge and STK Miami with pair dishes with wines from the Wine Spectator's scale.The event is $350 per person at 4441 Collins Ave. And then the party continues from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. at STK at the Perry Hotel at 2377 Collins Ave. Check out their website for prices.

SATURDAY: The Catalina Hotel will host "Tequila and Takeout," where people can sample food from chefs Macolm Mitchell, Emily Ellen and Josh Lyons. It starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m. The party's on the rooftop of the hotel at 1732 Collins Ave. RSVP at MMitchellthechef.com

                   Whole Foods Market Grand Tasting Village runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Cheff Todd Erikson from HaVen Gastro-Lounge will be preparing Shrimp and Chorizo Paella Bites and more demostrations.

                 The Forge Wine Dinner Series at 7 p.m. will be hosted by owner Shareef Malnick with dishes by chef Dewey LoSasso. They include savory black sesame doughnuts with lobster fondue and more. Tickets are $195 per person. Call 305 538 8533 to purchase.  

                 The Big Gay Ice Cream Shop will have a pop-up stand in the Breezway of the James Royal Palm at 1545 Collins Ave. It's open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

SUNDAY: Get a preview of Huahua's Taqueria at the Grand Tasting Village at 13th Street and Ocean Drive from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
