Horse Rescue Puts on Show for Veterans

American flags flying high, volunteers at Peaceful Ridge Horse Rescue hopped on their saddles and performed a flag routine and tricks for the audience. NBC 6's Laura Rodriguez reports.

Residents gathered in cities throughout South Florida Monday to honor soldiers and veterans on Memorial Day.

Parades and memorials were held in Miami-Dade and Broward with several services paying tribute to our fallen heroes.

Ceremonies were held in Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Davie, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and elsewhere. A "Fallen Soldier Memorial" was unveiled in Margate, while "The Valor of the Brave" mural was unveiled in Miami Beach.

Thousands of runners also took part in a Memorial Day 5K in Weston.
