South Florida Election Officials Preparing for Primary

Early voting for the Florida Primary is set to get underway in South Florida next week and officials in Miami-Dade are making sure every thing is ready.

Voting machines were being tested and inspected in Miami-Dade Wednesday, as some of the 1,500 machines are about to fan out across the county for the primary.

Every machine is tested three times before it goes to one of 600 polling locations in the county.

Early voting starts Monday, Feb. 29 and ends Sunday, March 13. It is a closed primary meaning you must be a registered Democrat or Republican to cast your vote.
