South Florida's Bella Rodriguez-Torres, 10, Passes Away After 6-Year Battle With Cancer

She had been under hospice care since the beginning of May

A 10-year-old South Florida girl has lost her battle with cancer.

Bella Rodriguez-Torres died Tuesday surrounded by family and loved ones. Her parents announced the news on their daughter’s Facebook page, which has more than 58,000 supporters.

Bella, who battled cancer for six years, was under hospice care since the beginning of May.

She returned to Miami in March after she spent 6 weeks receiving intensive cancer treatment in Houston.

Bella was a proud Miami Heat fan, and her supporters used the hashtag #LiveLikeBella Tuesday to try and get LeBron James to write the message on his shoes Tuesday night. The effort was successful, and both James and Dwyane Wade's shoes had the message written on them for Miami's game against the Indiana Pacers, with the Heat showing photos of them on Instagram.
