Steamy South Florida Gets Hail

It hailed in Doral, Sweetwater and Lighthouse Point

Steaming South Florida got a special delivery on Friday: Hail.

Scattered thunderstorms brought hail larger than quarters to Doral, Sweetwater and Lighthouse Point.

In Sweetwater, wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour knocked down some branches.

An urban flood advisory was in effect for central Broward County including the towns of Sunrise, Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale until 5:30 p.m. Also severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 4 p.m. for the Fort Lauderdale that runs until 4:30 p.m.

For the weekend, expect more thunderstorms especially on Saturday. On Sunday the majority of South Florida will remain dry. Temperature highs are expected to be around 88 and lows in the mid-70s.

It will be muggy at night with lots of humidity.
